As for moving it if it looks like a good deal, I know Jason moved his on a little 4x8 trailer, which is probably what I will be doing unless I need another setup. Would a standard  pallet jack work to lift and move it? Would I be able to ramp it onto a small trailer with two people and some ratchet straps?

A pallet jack will lift it fine. If you are only going to have 2 people I would rent/buy a come-a-long.

I moved ours on a 6x12 trailer twice.  Once from Indiana to home, 2nd time from our house to our new shop.

Make sure you get a trailer with a reinforced ramp.  It's no fun having the press and pallet jack fall through the ramp.  (Don't ask me how I know)

1500 is a killer deal.

The plc is the only thing to worry about, as the older ones are now few and far between.  That being said, if it's a festo plc, they do not have batteries and are pretty bullet prood.

You would need air hooked up to do any testing.

I sold a 6x8 Javelin to a Houston printer about 5 years ago (shown in the attached link).... if you end up purchasing the Jav , here's a rough tutorial on paralleling the  machine. I haven't had any feedback about this video, but the process worked well for me.

As mentioned earlier, having power to the machine should let me know if the PLC is "ok" right?  I understand I wouldnt be able to fully test without air, but I can at least see if the thing turns on and isn't DOA, right?  If I end up buying this thing I will definitely be adding two chopper retrofits right away, so I will probably have lots to talk about with you if you're willing.  I'm pretty savvy, but I still will probably try to get a tech out asap as well.

The biggest issue with these presses is the PLC, since it is no longer available.  Phil Ritz at Workhorse is who you need to speak with, and he can tell you what to look for if you can get it to power up, but if the PLC is shot, or has a bad card in it that they do not have in stock (they have very limited cards left, if any now) you're looking at around $5,000 for a new computer upgrade unless it is a newer press.

I've owned a 10/12 and my father has a 10/12 as well and we've done just about everything you can with them, if you need more help, shoot me a pm.

You can check that the computer is operating right, and you can also take a pen and press the button on the top of the air valves to see if they are getting power, without air it wont do anything but you can check that the valves are working properly as well.

On the retrofit, depending on the age, it may not be possible to do that upgrade.  But, before you spend that kinda cash on an upgrade, you should try printing with the V squeegee, it is entirely possible to get a good white ink using it, you just need to use an ink that flows well.  Personally, for me I use One Stroke Inks LB Premium White, but have had good success with other inks as well, they just need to be somewhat creamy and clear the screen easily.

Just wanted to post an update.  Got everything moved, but have not had any time to actually set it back up or test it.  Ended up using a wood bottomed 6x14 double axle, and it worked perfectly.  Altogether I got the 6/8 javelin, 3 sets of pallets (adult, youth, sleeve though not a complete set), a compressor, chiller, and a roller frame stretching table.  Guy ended up needing it out immediately yesterday as he had new people coming into the building today so he adjusted the price to COMPLETELY FREE!  It definitely needs work.  Bent bold on the index cylinder being the most glaring issue.  Looks like some of the air lines will need work of course, and it only has 4 of the V-squeegees, but can't get a better deal than free.

I want to thank Brannon (who I called Brandon on the phone, sorry!) for being available a bunch to answer questions, and Jason (jvanick) as well.  Both answered a lot of questions and had invaluable advice on how to break the machine down and move it.  I was super nervous about everything, but they made me a lot more confident.  I will say, I expected the machine to be more complicated, but honestly once I got into the disassembly it was pretty straightforward and I can definitely see how its possible to work on it yourself even without much experience.

Extremely excited to get it setup and tested out.  Even if it doesnt end up working out for me, it will be worth it in parts, peripherals, and the experience.
