I have those in my shop and when I am burning screens I just close the rollup door down and the entire shop is uv safe.

I think that these are much more of a concern in rooms where coated screens are stored uncovered.
I have no problems with the little bit of light from a few cool white tubes or windows. No direct sun, but real light. Just not enough to mess with a screen in the minute or less it is being worked on before exposure. And otherwise, my screens live in light-safe cabinets.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

Me likes the clear sleeves. You can see what you're doing in the dark room (if you have one)

That's the issue.  I have 8 sets of fluorescent bulbs in my shop now (might only be 6 but I think 8)... a "dark room" would be a lot easier if it was the entire room and I just "blacked out" the cracks around the roll up door and main doorway than it would be to create a dark room.  Still looking at making drying racks as I do need a way to store my screens coated and uncoated safe from dust and debris at least (light would be a bonus in this situation).

One reason for having a separate room for exposure and screen drying is to keep the lint off of stuff. My "darkroom is a cavernous 4x8 and that houses an AmerGraph 150 MH unit and a drying box with filtered continuous air movement, plus a dehumidifier. The rest of my space has lint on everything.
I do use a yellow bug light in the screen room and one in the washout area when I'm developing the screens, but I always leave the small window open as there's no direct sunlight coming in.
Work is the curse of the drinking class . . .

Yeah, lint and more so sandblasting dust and foam insulation bits are what I'm worried about the most.

Speaking of... if a screen is left out what is the best way to clean that off.  Water or just maybe a "dusting" with the air compressor from the opposite side it was sitting?

In some circumstances, I've used painter's "Tac-Cloths" just before coating.

I use one of those lint rollers to dedust screens before coating...Speaking of lights my darkroom has yellow bug lights so the light is not bright, so the other day the light blew so to finish I just turned on the flo's which are two 4footers and man I saw more junk and lint on my screens.  I thought I was doing a good job with the lint roller and how I store my screens before emulsion, now I got to rethink how I,m doing things here.  I think I might build something or cover up my screens until they are ready for emulsion and drying.  I just have a rack in the shop area and put all my screens there until I,m ready for them, how are you guys storing your screens?

In a cabinet (or in a pinch the few times when I get overloaded, in boxes that they came in.)

Anything wrong with that?  That's my current setup. :)

I've used them for years.. a quick wipe before coating removes 99% of your pinhole problems.

Nothing that I can see. My point was only that if your screens are stored light safe, safe lights are not as important (though certainly no harm, especially with the clear sleeves).
