Print production times

I am preparing tables so that I can plan production, I want to have lists that will tell me approximately how long each job will take to print.
This includes set up, printing and break down.     So for example I'll have a list that says 2 color 200 shirts 35min.     8 colours 500 shirts 2 hours and so forth.
Somebody must have done this before, I'd really like to compare my lists with other shops.

setup and teardown is 3-5 minutes per color

run time is calculated at pcs per minutes as a standard 8 hour work day uses 450 minutes of time (two 15 min breaks give you 7.5 hrs)

800 per hour = 13.3 per minute

650 per hour = 10 per minute


2 color 200 shirts = 16 min set/tear + 200/13.3=15.03 mins run = 31 minutes

2 color 200 shirts = 16 min set/tear + 200/10= 20 mins run = 36 minutes

My numbers are close enough to John's that it would be a waste of time for me to type ours out.  I've spent way too much time going back through the camera recordings and getting exact times for jobs and comparing what it SHOULD take versus what it actually does but what's done is done and I can at least share some of that when needed.  Typically I found that there was a 15-20% difference between the "paper times" versus actual production time when there wasn't pressure or a slammed schedule.  For example, I figured that a standard 4 color job, 288 pieces should take 45 minutes from putting screens on press to getting the final screen off the press.  If I'm out loitering around the press the guys know there is pressure to get the job done so in that scenario the job will be done in 40 minutes and if I get involved with setup/teardown we can shave a few more minutes off.  But if we have a slower schedule and there isn't any pressure to get things done quickly the job will take 50-55 minutes.  A 2nd location of like colors and complexity will be done in approximately 20-25% less time than the 1st location due to leaving squeegees and floodbars locked in place and having inks already there, and pressure/speed settings almost always staying the same.

That's just simply human psychology, take the easier path when given the option.

we 'should' take the sidewalk around the new landscaping.. in reality my daughter tromped over the dirt clods and piles of rocks with a smile on her face as she said "new path".. that's my girl.

Different operators take different paths, keep the end result the same and i could care less, but give me less on the easy path, ima drop some boulders in your path and tell you how you should get over them safely.
