Pouring emulsion down from 5 gal buckets with no mess?

Hey guys, I've already heard the answer, "don't buy emulsion in 5's". But, ok, I will try not to in the future,, but for now, does anyone have a trick for pouring out of the 5 without wasting or making a mess? I've thought of going to lowes and picking up one of these easy pour spouts, just not sure if it will screw onto the opening on the bucket I have. I'm sure someone has mastered a trick besides, don't buy 5 gal buckets.

If you have an empty chemical jug with the spout on it, you could spraypaint it black, and  pour it in there using a funnel.

Might work for you.

I have to run to Lowes in a bit for some wood for screen racks I have one of my guys building so I'll see if one of them spouts will work. It makes such a mess. I thought I remember seeing a video, maybe the Ink Kitchen, and they had some sort of pivoting device with a 5 gal bucket in it that leaned the bucket over to pour into a scoop coater. Pretty neat thing if I remember correctly.

washing machine detergent, like Tide. tops should pop on / pop off....they have a nice our spout.

I think what I saw in someone's video was one of these, but, I'll just make sure to always request singles. The big 5 is a pain and if there isn't a discount to deal with that buckets, skaaaayrewwww that!

we order it in gallons too.  we did 5's for a while and we had a bucket pump that worked well.

singles ended up being easier.

we pour off from the 5er into gallon buckets.

Been thinking of making a lid with some kind of spigot or plug on the other side of the spout so it'll pour faster (breaking the vacuum), but if you're patient seems to work fine.

Yup you found it! That's the video. Notice that whole shop is static frames as well? I've really been pondering selling off my newmans, stretch table and all and going all s-mesh statics. I have a big mix of 23x31 mzx, m3, and m3uls. But most people I've talked to about buying them want them so cheap it's nuts so I've waited for a reasonable offer, if I was to do it at all. I just spent 1500 bucks in shurloc panels because our inventory of good screens has started to spiral down, but now seeing that video makes me wish I held off. Not to change the subject matter of this thread or anything, lol. Thanks for finding that!

For the time being, I went to lowes, picked up one of these and one of these and a new 1 gal metal paint bucket. That one lid goes on the 1 gallon and has a capable spout to pour out of. Seemed like a cheap easy way to get through this batch of emulsion.

Ok, so my jerry rig idea works and was cheap, easy and will be totally usable taking a pain in the arse situation and making it actually clean and simple. Pour spout from Lowes for 5 gal buckets screws right on the cap opening. 1 gallon steel paint bucket, and rubber 1 gallon sealable pour spout top. Friggin works really good. So I guess if you can save 20-40 bucks from your supplier buying 5's instead of 5 singles, this can be a headache free way to getter done. Here's some pics.

But seriously...tippy bucket looks smart.  My opinion/rule here is we won't buy drums unless we have the proper space for storage and handling and dispensing system.  But if there was some magic bung hole tap (uhhh...) that didn't become riddled with dried emulsion chunks this idea could work.  But you still need a bung entry (again...) mixer to sensitize. 

Motion does look like a screen process wet dream.  I love douthitt's pass through design for CTS shooting.
