Printer for making screens

I am looking to purchase a new printer and i am looking at the Epson t3270 and the Epson 4900. What printer do you think is best? Are there any other models of printer that would be all around better? I would really like to purchase a used 4800/4880 that is in good shape but i am having a hard time making that decision.

I had a 4800 and afetr 9 years it plugged up and went to t3270 and 2 balck and 3 clean sol from filmdirect. Email brian he can help you. You will need a rip to do halftones. I use filmmaker since i just upgraded. I like both other than size of printer.

What type of film do you use and what ink do you use with the t3270?
Where did you purchase it from?

Filmdirect.com bryan his ink but ulano film and trying a sample of midwest new brand.

What size large format? I know a few years back roland and wasatch rip was doing a film printer. I dont know if they still do.
I have epson t3270 24" and they do  36, 44 from there. the biggest problem I heard was film not dark enough on canon etc..
On this one i have 5 cart canon has like 12 carts. I use 2 for black and 3 cleaning fluid to not burn head up.

Thats my understanding.

As was asked, how large is large?  Some of us have used some lower end printers like 13x19 HP 9800's with success, but they don't tend to attract the support of third party merchants for RIPS and ink systems.  Someone here was once talking about a Canon of some sort as well.

The available bulk inks and refillable carts or CIS make my Epson WF1100 a much more desirable piece of equipment even with the occasional hiccup from print heads rather than the self contained cartridges of the HP.
