Food-safe emulsion??

I have a new request that has me scratching my head.  Customer is looking to create screens to print on cakes using royal icing.  Apparently, this is a thing.  They want us to produce some screens for them but they asked if we can get emulsion that is "food safe".  Anyone have any insight on this?

Not sure how detailed your screens are going to be or if this would even be any safer but you could use vinyl.  Weed the design and then stick the vinyl to the screen and print away.  I cant imagine a design on a cake coming out really crisp anyway.  Strange request for sure.

I wonder if either the vinyl adhesive, or our various emulsions would even bother to get a "food safe" rating.
But, as the OP mentioned, it is done.

Based on how many photos and videos I've seen of people sending food down their dryer belt (vomit), I'd probably be surprised/shocked.

Ha Homer I send my garlic bread down the dryer on a paper towel same here about two trips and it's nice and toasted
