HAHA, anytime I am having a bad day, somebody else's is worse.  Luckily our work is evenly divided between departments right now, so that takes a lot of stress off me(the overflow guy).

It would seem, this type of thing has been going on for quite a while....Marvin Rainwater even wrote a song about it.

SO YOU THINK YOU'VE GOT TROUBLES
(Rainwater)
MARVIN RAINWATER (M-G-M 12412, 1957)

So you think you've got troubles
The more you try the worse you get
So you think the world don't like you
Well brother, you ain't heard nothing yet

My car sounds like an old tin can
My wife went off with another man
And I strained a muscle of my fishing hand
My income tax is due

Now I lost my money in a poker game
And I think my left leg is a-goin' lame
My brother asked if I'd change my name
And that's what I think I'll do

My doctor told me not to smoke
Drink nothing stronger than a coke
I'm not even supposed to hear dirty jokes
For I'd laugh and strain my heart

I had every illment known to man
From the African mumps to a dishpan hand
I lost every race that I ever ran
I didn't even get a start

So you think you've got troubles
The more you try the worse you get
So you think the world don't like you
Well brother, you ain't heard nothing yet

Now some people call me a pessimist
They say that I oughta make the best of this
Well, maybe I am a pessimist
That's something that I wouldn't know

But one thing I do know, I'll tell you right now
I'm a-milkin' the wrong end of this old cow
There's to many wrinkles in this boy's brow
That stuff has got to go

So you think you've got troubles
The more you try the worse you get
So you think the world don't like you
Well brother, you ain't heard nothing yet

So I put me a bar in the back of my car
And drive myself to drink!

Grant me the ability to change the things I can, the strength to accept the things I cannot and the wisdom to recognize the difference.

My day started with a crappy JPEG file that a church "borrowed" somewhere online for a shirt they want me to print cheap.

Print the shirt cheap and charge the hell out of the art.

Today I was working on a Mariah gas dryer....

Replacing a blower...

The customer thought I was gone...

I wasn’t...

She turned it on while my hand was inside of the squirrel cage... :o

I still have all of my fingers, so I guess it was a Good day  ;D

There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply. The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey.

Sorry Dude, but this one is 100% down to you.  Not using a safety lockout is one of those save a little time “short-cuts” that nearly got you badly cut.

There used to be a guy around these parts who was always offering to train you on how to be a better Technician.

Maybe you should consider joining his JEDI Academy after all.

Brannon I didn't have an OSHA approved lockout/tagout this morning but when I was working on a blower motor I put good ole white duct tape across the breaker and a "NO MOESTE" sign on the breaker cover. Then basically barricaded it so no one could even get to it.
Old school comfort!

1910.147(c)(3)(ii)

In demonstrating that a level of safety is achieved in the tagout program which is equivalent to the level of safety obtained by using a lockout program, the employer shall demonstrate full compliance with all tagout-related provisions of this standard together with such additional elements as are necessary to provide the equivalent safety available from the use of a lockout device. Additional means to be considered as part of the demonstration of full employee protection shall include the implementation of additional safety measures such as the removal of an isolating circuit element, blocking of a controlling switch, opening of an extra disconnecting device, or the removal of a valve handle to reduce the likelihood of inadvertent energization.

tony - looks like your barricade was OSHA approved
