Well it finally happen!!

Someone backed into my car yesterday afternoon busting the back bumper on my Vette, and yep it was a hit and run as we were in the back working and didn't see until the end of the work day.  Now you all see why I belly ache about the parking so much here.

Same thing happened to me here, but they left behind orange paint.  There is a taxi company that runs out of our building...with orange cars.  Wasn't hard to put it together.

I now park around the back of the building where nobody else does.

What blows my mind is that parking lot mishaps aside, hit and runs have become the norm, even when serious or deadly!

I came out of the grocery store and there were some people hanging around my truck. They told me a guy backed into me and took off. Damage was minor, barely a scuff, but the fact that he left pissed me off. The group all knew the guy, a teacher where my kids go to school. SO I felt like I couldn't go yell at him for fear of how he might take it out on my kids. I just wanted to yell at him a bit about responsibility and such. Had it been worse I would have, but I just buffed it out. I'm guess he had more damage. But really, man up.

On a related note/hijack, guess what my wife inherited?.....





'64, hard-top, soft top, numbers matching been sitting since '91. We just hauled it back in the fall from half way across the country (I think I spent more time looking in the rear-view mirror than out the windshield on the drive...) and it goes into a trusted mechanic soon to get gently re-awoken for the Spring.

Traded my C7 for a C7 Z06 mid year. Such a fun car.

Man I bet those new 'Vettes are a blast to drive, the '64 will be a cruiser, but it still has a 365hp 327, so it won't be a slouch. The Volvo V70R in the background would eat it up though. Heck even the '98 5.9L Grand Cherokee would keep up pretty well......except in style points

Such is progress.  I bought my C7 in 2014, it had 460hp.  A year later 650hp is now the normal in super cars.  So I traded it for the Z06. 650hp is insane to put it mildly. It shouldn't even be legal to sell to be honest.
