New rubber for our pallets

I think we have up to 10 pallets which need the top rubber replaced. Is there any recommended way getting this done?
I assume there will be some residue of dry glue left on the pallets once we`ve managed to remove old rubber. How do you get rid of that old layer of glue. Sand it off or is there some sort of glue remover that works well?
Once done is there anything to look out for when applying the new rubber?

  In addition to the heat gun trick, if you have a parts washer, I have used that letting
them soak quit a while before scraping with a piece of plastic. Finished them off
with lacquer thinner and they were ready for new rubber.

I use spray-out fluid. It is good at removing the glue and leaves no residue.

I tried all the suggested solvents and cleaners and whatever and they basically did nothing.  Couple minuted with a razor scraper and a heat gun and it was pretty close to good as new, THEN the suggested solvents worked to get rid of the remaining glue residue.  My rubber left some kind of adhesive tape behind when I pulled it up though, and that doesn't seem to be the norm.

Sounds like they were put on with a heavy duty double stick tape rather than a glue.

That's how Action does it. The adhesive is industrial grade and is yellow in color
