How do I "weld" a design with multiple colors???(CorelDraw X5)
« on: November 03, 2015, 07:24:32 AM »
I am having major issues with a 4 color sep...I'm wasting film left and right....when I print the films I have breaks in the design where the seps dont touch when they should.....when I make the whole design one color then expand it i can see faint lines in the design, which is what is showing up in the printed seps.

I need to use the "weld" option....I tested this by making the mascot all one color, then welded it....and it did get rid of the line breaks BUT it made the whole mascot go out of whack!

So how would I weld this entire design? I Think I have to do it one letter at a time and also weld the mascot by itself.

When I weld a text it all becomes one color.

How can I weld a design with multiple colors in it?

(here is a link to the thread when i was trying to fix this where i thought i had it but i don't.  http://www.theshirtboard.com/index.php/topic,16283.msg155448.html#msg155448 )

I have attached a zip of the file.  Yours in on page 2 and mine is on page 1.   I did a combine rather than a weld on the base which is the right an for the colors I went through and welded all of the colors which were alike so this way when you select the image you have only 4 objects.

I went ahead and printed the seps out on my end and they diid come out fine with perfect registration.

I work in x7 so I had to back save so not sure if all colors will come through correctly.

thanks...i made the whole design you worked on (on page one) and made it all one color (red)...expanded...and i'm still seeing the faint lines between the colors.....BUT, you are saying you printed them out and there are no gaps between the colors???

Do you still have the seps printed?..I'd GLADLY buy them from you and also pay you for your services.

If so, give me your paypal address and a cost and i'll pay you asap!
