Sleeve print hang ups
« on: October 28, 2015, 10:27:41 PM »
I have an Auto (M&R Gauntlet) Any suggestions how to reduce or eliminate the problem of sleeves hanging up on on the yellow levers that hold the platens in place as I am removing the shirt from the platen.
Thanks in advance

Trick we have figured out is to grab the collar and side of the shirt...and yank...HARD straight off. Don't even bother touching the other side of the sleeve. Seems like they pop off pretty easy that way. Make sure you flash first if possible to prevent flips.
I spend too much money on equipment...

Throw a strip of tape over them.

You want to essentially create a cover over the clamps.  Everything will just slide right off.

I dunno.  I always found that the perfect amount of spray tack and a good firm yank on the cuff, perfectly straight out, usually got them off with no problems.  Smalls and hoodies can be a pain...but never so much that I felt a need to do anything about it.

Pop it straight outward with no bias for pulling up or down.  Too much tack and this pretty much won't work, you'll be peeling up and subject to the whims of the levers.

adjust the levers so when tight they are parallel with the arm and there is nothing to hang up on.

Besides what Rich said we tape put tape around the handles and tape to the arm (Long Runs of course).  That way when you go to unload the handle can't grab the garment.

Tape works but of course Rich is right. Two half inch wrenches (one shd be a socket) and you can make quick work of it. Well that's what we use on our dinosaurs.

I do what rich said. Adjust it so the levers areally parallel to the pallet arm. Never had hang up issues. Tape sounds like even more insurance against hang ups.
