CorelDRAW - Paragraph text to Artistic text?
« on: September 30, 2015, 05:14:47 PM »
I copied some text from an email, and it pastes as paragraph text. I'd limke to work with it as artistic text.
I know that I can do the opposite, but it appears to me that the only thing that I can do with paragraph text is convert it to curves.
Am I missing or overlooking something?

instead of copying it the way you did open the text dialogue box and paste it in there and you will be good to go

Is that the Text Properties Docker? I use that to alter text, but see nowhere to paste anything.
When you have time could you do a screen shot?

IN x7 copy text, click paste brings up dialog box. Import and pasting text. I usually click discard everything. Could version 6 maybe is different.

Ok then, select text copy and paste should ask how you want it. Tell it artistic. Hopefully...

I just usually:

COPY>PASTE SPECIAL>TEXT>(RIGHT CLICK) CONVERT TO ARTISTIC TEXT.

Hope this helps.

I usually copy the text from the email. Click artistic text like I am about to start typing and the ctrl v. To paste and it will pop up asking if I want to keep the text properties the same. Then they are normal

With paragraph text selected, try Ctrl + F8 or go to Text in top menu bar and down towards the bottom you'll see Convert to Artistic Text.

Okay, Tony did walk me through it, but as we know, there's more than one way to skin a Corel cat, so I am exploring these other methods as well.
Thanks all.

Andy what I was reffering to was control shift T   and the paste into there.  it will ask you if you want to keep font and format but  this is the easiest way I have found.

another trick I learned with importing names from an excel sheet which works beautifully is by saving the excel file as a web page and then you open the file in your browser and just copy paste into corel.  the only way I know how to get the names out of excel with ease.
