Epson 1430

What do you that still print film the old fashion way think about the Epson 1430 for printning film, looking to get a second printer, already been thru 3 epson 3000's

I like ours.  We run water proof film and accuink all black.  We have had this one for about 1.5 years and its still running strong.  So far the only issue I have had is ink on the edges of a the film but we just cut that off.  Takes about 1 to 3 mins to run a film off.  Once we changed to the accuink we notice that we don't get any film stick issues as long as our screens are dry and humidity is right in our screen room.

We have an all Black dye system from Cobra and really like it.

No problemo here. I do find that it likes the 5mil film as opposed to the 4mil though, sometimes it doesn't sense the 4mil and you have to kinda feed it manually sort of.

After doing a little research the 1430 and accurip might be a good back system or a a main system, funny thing is I was send accurip many years ago for free and gave it away because I like what I had at the time

I almost got one last week when having trouble with our 3800. It will certainly do the job, and it's listed in the RIP (AccuRIP)... but then we got the 3800 up and 1430 took a back seat...

I got my new 1430 and now my question is going all black bulk system or using the one cart to print black and leaving the colors in and who have you found has the best third party black inks to use.  I looked at Ryonet's Black Max system and Cobra's system any one else?  Any of you that have went CTS want to sell your old Accurip?

side note for the 1430    I have had mine for close to 2 years and did not use for a while and all heads clogged up and was just about to throw away and but another.  but then tried the windex on a paper towel and leaving the head sit over it for 1 day and it is now perfect.  very cool trick wished epson would have it as a help video.   have 3 other epsons with clogged heads which  will be doing the same thing to this weekend.

Ryonet's blackmaxx system is a sham at the price.

I've been using a cobra CIS for a couple years now and have yet to have any hiccups with, plus it's cheaper, and so are refills.

I used the black maxx and then switched to the Cobra CIS. Wondered why I didn't do it sooner. I run all 6 black.

have used Filmdirects all black system on my 1400 and 1430 and work excellent, ute savings filling your own carts but I'm looking at getting one of the Cobra cis systems that hold more ink so I don't have to fill carts as often

Same here. Just got mine delivered today. My 1100 I have been using for years died on me last Friday. Picked up a 1430 over the weekend and installing the cobra system tomorrow

What would help me make the decision between similar seeming stuff from Ryonet and Cobra, is that Cobra actually engineers the stuff they sell, and Richard there, is more than happy to personally help you out with questions.

Also I may be wrong but ryonet does not sell bulk ink, just cartridges. So once one is empty you have to replace it, instead of just adding more ink to it.?.?
