Turning off power disconnect switch on Fusion dryer
« on: September 19, 2015, 10:55:08 PM »
I have a fusion dryer that when done you push the red button and it cools down and turns off.
There is a 3 phase dryer disconnect on the side of the control box when turned disconnects power from the dryer.
I was wondering anyone with this or a similar dryer do you disconnect power from your dryer each night?

We turn off the dryer and hit the switch on the breaker box after the dryer shuts off.  If you don't turn off the breaker the transformer in the dryer will still have power to it and heat up.  The result over time is that the transformer will break.  That is what I have learned from my experience.  I was wondering if the newer dryers have a cut off for the power to the transformer.

there is no need to turn off the main disconnect at night unless you are expecting severe weather and lightening directly strikes. You will probably wear out the disconnect way before the transformer or anything else fails by leaving it on.
