4 coon decided to take up residence in our dumpster. You can poke and prod them all they do is stare back at you and go back to sleep.

Are you sure they aren't just passed out? Looks like they've been drinking.

To let them go off into the woods, just reach down and grab one of the pretty little kitty's.

Can they get out on their own? If not maybe they are exhausted from trying to get out all night.....just a thought.

You usually have to put a long 2x4 or something in there so the damn things can climb out. Either that, or leave 'em there 'til the truck comes along to empty it.

I would call Billy the Exterminator. Wait, he's in La. In that case, I would just call animal control. They probably would fish them out and turn them loose in the wild.
They could be dehydrated from no liquids if they cannot get out.

Just use a board. They'll get out that way by themselves. Probably not feisty because of lack of water/food. also, have probably given up the will to live after several days of gloom.
The Animal shelter in our area of Florida just kill them. No time for relocation. They are considered a nuisance animal and obviously of no value to humans.
I'd let them go in the nearest woods. You can probably drop them into a few containers and put a lid on it (with air holes) and haul them off. It would be the more humane thing and I would call you a nice guy forever despite what everyone else says about you.
But I'm a nice guy like that.

You guys crack me up, I never said they cant get out. Has anyone ever seen what a coon is capable of? They open cans and garbage cans etc quite easily, they can jump well as well. I seen them go in and out several times, the thing is they are nocturnal once down to sleep they dont want to be bothered in the day. We actually do not mind them, they are cute to look at. As long as they dont make a mess they can crash in the garbage all they want!
