"He who marches out of step hears another drum." ~ Ken Kesey
I did email tech support, but I didn't get too good of an answer. My 93 Gauntlet Revolver GT-8 temporarily lost its functionality on Head #3, which has the shuttle flash mounted to it. It would go out (flood stroke) but not return to the flashing position (print stroke). I could push it back in manually and it would stay in flashing position. But on its return to the out position, it would bounce against the outer bumper 4 or 5 times and stay right there. The press's former owner is local to me, and it has been terrific to call him with questions. He said he'd "check the print finish button, to see if it was in the neutral position. If not, cycle it through enough indexes to clear the print finish instruction".Well, I didn't ever get to that point, because just as mysteriously as the problem began...it disappeared. I went back on the print floor to try the next idea, and after powering up, all was well.I can't reproduce the problem.Anybody care to weigh in? Tony maybe?
Rich, I suspect you are right. There are some other boo boos I've made--particularly in the beginning--that left me scratching my head. Then, I'd have an an "AHA MOMENT" and realize it was operator error yet again. When a proximity sensor gives out, it won't print at all, correct? I was able to print through all this today. I kinda know how flow control valves act upon failure and stroke cylinders, and my problem didn't act like either of those. Thanks!Stan
