One would have to believe that the world would listen. I like the suggestions so far, but it ain't gonna happen, never has. Still, I'm nice to everyone, I just don't trust them any farther than I could throw them... so that means "Love thy neighbor", or "Love" for a singe word, but keep your eyes open, don't get too comfortable.

i would agree that it more than likely won't happen, but I feel society has regressed in this regard.  we've become very polarized in damn near every aspect of life.  it's sad really.

Another one is "Half-full". (Okay. A little cheating with the hyphen)

There are so many decent folks. Like 90 something percent are straight up...agreeable enough to say "Thank You" when you hold the door for them, or let them in traffic, etc. I try to be polite and honest and I expect it in return. I am usually rewarded for my efforts from most folks.

Trouble is, it is so easy to focus on the others.

And even if only 1 percent of the world are truly evil, wicked people (probably a low number)... THAT my friends, is an awful lot of bad people. 3.2 Million in the US alone.

Luckily, they aren't plying their craft 100% of their waking hours.

I'm still in a "glass half full" mode most of the time. It's like sitting down to a wonderful smoked salmon, with a tiny little bone. I choose to enjoy the meat, and try not to choke on the bones.

love would be my choice.

It is a powerful emotion or concept. It would encompass all that's mentioned so far, as "love thyself" and "love your neighbor" will cover taking care of yourself (improvement and such. . .) and loving others would include the respect for other individuals and the society.

How many of would not give their life for their kid? Love is powerful enough to have us go against our basic instincts of preservation.

Well guys and gals the word I was looking for is RESPECT! Respect has a few meaning but the most that stands out to me is...regard for or appreciation of the fundamental worth or value of someone or something: respect for life.   For me respect does not mean you have to like a person, love a person, live with or even talk to but just a general respect for another human beings place in the world, which is very lacking these days, Homer got it.

Common and Sense

I often recommend the reading of Common Sense, by Thomas Paine...
