WTB - Quartz/Rotating Flash for Manual

Tired of this ole Brown FastFlash.  Switch doesn't work and it never runs at the same temp twice.

Would like to have a proximity sensor instead of a foot switch on a quartz.  Something I can take with me to an auto later down the road.

If not, I'll go for a rotating flash.

Preferrably near Charlotte, NC.

IMO Quartz cool down too quick for manual printing. If you flash every 6 seconds then take 30 to unload/load then flash it has cooled down needing a longer flash.

The auto rotate is a simple hack on any foot pedal operated rotating flash using a prox switch and a three position switch so you can use the foot pedal or auto mode.

I'm good with going auto rotate.  Seeing what anyone has out there used.  Don't have the time or energy to convert what I have.

if you decide to get a quartz flash that you want to move to an auto later, don't make the same mistake I did and get too small of a flash.

we purchased a Red Chili D 16x18 for use on our manual and old Javelin press.  it is too small to use for most jobs on our new auto...  would recommend a 20x24 even for manual use if you can afford it.

I'm looking at an 18x24 IR flash with auto rotate or maybe a used quartz, but I figured 20+ there.

At one time I wanted a rotating flash, but now I just dont see the use for manual printing.  If there is any downtime during a run, I just do a half rotation so no pallets are under the flash during that time, otherwise the longest anything is dwelling is maybe 10-12 seconds while I'm pulling a shirt off and putting another on.  If you're slow at that, take shirts off all at once while rotating, then load all at once to cut that time in half.

I second getting the biggest flash you can.  I bought a custom 120v 18x24 IR panel from intek that pulls only 15 amps.  It was less than $300 shipped, and I built the stand for another 50 or so.

My problem is that I'm doing a bunch of 6 color stuff as of late.  1 flash printing 5 colors WOW and pallets are getting way too hot and causing issues. Even when running the flash like 4" above.

BBC has a dial that you can set for 0-100% power and really helps on a manual
for reducing heat build up. Also have a auto swivel, footpetal etc.

I have one of those for sale right now... it has a broken bulb, but can be replaced for around $60 or so from their website.

I'm in Crystal Lake, IL, but could ship it.

I'd let it go for $900+ shipping assuming you're ok fixing the bulb.  It's got both the IR sensor and the foot pedal.
