Virus Inks. Anyone use it?
« on: March 31, 2015, 11:38:31 PM »
Hi guys,
Tried searching for some news on Virus Inks and didn't seem to find much.
Anyone using these inks?
Heard there was a lot of hype about them at the ISS show in long beach, but I wasn't there.
Checked out there site but would love to hear from users.
Thinking of getting a sample kit.
Thanks for any info.

Cheers

I do use them, excellent for simulated process. hydra 120

They have a new CMYK RFU for realistic print on dark garment, a new hydra base for large spot color job...

You have as well the white acryllic water based optimoon, and you can overprint plastisol on it ! hand of print is very nice.

Hydra 120, dot gain is amazing.

Anyway, if you have question, or to found supplier in the US you can wrote to virus@virusinks.com

It's a gray dye blocking base! we've used it a couple of times on non cotton goods.

I would like to take a moment here to comment on how dumb their name is.

I almost deleted an email from them because it starts out with VIRUS inks.  My email scanner puts virus in all caps in front of any email containing a virus...I wonder how many people have deleted their emails thinking it was actually a virus in the email.

Agreed, but look at the trend with "hip" language. "Bad" means good. "Sick" means really good, and, closer to this particular name, something getting popular quickly is described as "viral".

Then again, some of the trendier shirt brands won't sell to me without a note from my son, LOL! Perhaps VIRUS enjoys a similar exclusivity.  ???

They must, because I really want to try them out and have yet to find a supplier with any info (beyond a logo) on their website about them.  Can any of the cool kids on the forum please direct me to where you're tracking them down?

For once we are close to producer of great products. Virus inks are produced 500km away from us. Most of good stuff we get from american side of big pond. I know what I just wrote doesn't help you get their inks. Just want to say I know how it feels when you need to make big effort just to be able to buy stuff.

Have they improved at all? As you know, a few years back, they were spotty at best, at least for many things I seemed to need.
