A dumb question. Shop doorbell or ringer?

Does anyone  have a recommendation for a sort of doorbell when a customer comes in?

Sometimes i am in back and i come up front and find someone standing there. I dont like that happening.

But i have no idea what is a good one to use. Does anyone use these?

We have a doorbell that ding dongs when ever someone comes in, make sure you get a good or it will be going off for no reason...got our's from American Chime Co been using it now for 13 plus years.

Not dumb at all. Trying to figure that out for my new shop...ppl come in and I don't know they are there....any further info would be appreciated.

I have used both bells and ringers but think in an active small shop a blinking light fixture is the best option.  Check out ADA hearing impaired notification options for a starting point

Same concept as the door bell/chime but it blinks a light fixture and even with the music volume set at 10+ you know somebody is up front.  However keep in mind that if you have more than 1 employee a blinking light will be ignored just as much as a doorbell when printers switch on the autopilot mode.

We have a receptionist but have a little beeper that goes off when the doors open and close. I can be anywhere in the bldg. @5:30 am and still know when early visitors/employees enter and leave

We have 3 receivers and 2 transmitters... it has 4 different beep styles (we use two obviously) and we have one in the back of each department and then another next to my production managers desk.  No matter which door they come into we all know when someone comes in and which door.

Only down side is that when the batteries start to get weak it sometimes doesn't register that the door is closed or if the antenna isn't in a good position.  But over all, I love the system.

Go to your home center, get a motion sensor light or similar set it up to look at the entry door way and instead of usingthe light fixture that is part of the unit tap in extend the wires to operte a light or 120 volt buzzer or bell in the back of the shop where you can hear / see it.

We have the door buzzer and dog, both work sometimes.

our dog works sometimes too... other times she's crashed out under the belt dryer and doesn't hear anybody come in... such a great guard dog... lol

I've tried for years to find one of those drive over bells, and still haven't found one!

We have one from home depot, had to replace it after someone decided I needed a drive through instead of a front doo.  but now have 2 of the speakers. 1 in the dark room and one by the press. It works about 80 percent of the time.
