Table Printing

My friend has finally returned from the Shanghai Garment District and has practically broken my e-mails with pics and vids. And........not allowed to post sorry. But heres something similar we did at Fortune Fashions for sampling on a "table" Stainless steel frames are precision welded hardened steel xyz male pins. The registration table was a vacuum surface made out of polypropylene printed with various reg marcs in permanent ink. A steel frame around it was machined with precision xyz female holes. The vacuum held the film in place, taped film pressed to screen, vacuum off and screens perfectly regged.
Off to the imaging room and back out to the second  table which was a permanent pallet surrounded by another steel frame with female pins (gap inbetween for loading/unloading) screens come out on the rack, placed in the frame, squeegeed, back in the rack, etc. They can do this on and on even after the screens are inked. No problem sampling 20+colors. Takes up very little space and mimics the table printing tables you can see on you-tube; just not as long as a football field. Elegantly simple. I bet even Dave could do it blindfolded

There is one that is similar where the tables are like 500 feet long, but I couldn't find it.  The flash moving up and down the track is pretty awesome.

Buddy of mine literally did some table printing when a local bar had him print their logo on their pool table. He just freehanded the single screen, but man, that type of stuff is nerve racking!

At 15 I printed the walls of my bedroom. Vertical ink management is difficult at best.

A few years ago we were commissioned to recreate a Warhol-esque pattern (Florida style) on a wall at a children's art gallery.  Have done a few more things in this vein since then, but this one was definitely the most labor intensive.  In any case, I'd definitely agree with the above statement.

      I guess I was curious about the registration aspect in the original post, BUT... OMG, that is some incredible stuff, High production old school, sweat shop kinda thing. Thank you for that.... As for the vertical thing, I never was much of a Warhol fan but as far as execution goes that alligator wall is really cool, (Bet you had a few sleepless nights trying to get that right )

most of the shops here in Japan print on long tables. Takes a lot of space though I have to say and considering the high property prices here I wonder why most shop who run this set up are so reluctant to make a switch to a rotary  system.
My guess though is they all want to be able to print 20-50 colors minimum:) Even tough I never had a client asking me for that sort of stuff, most of them are too tight to spend money for a 3 color print

In Indonesia we have groves on the non mesh side of the frame. This allow us to to slide t-bar left or right, and slide 2 flat pins on each side of the frames.

Table printing is alot faster than manual carousel when it comes to waterbase printing.

There are several types of table surface here.
Wooden, Metal or Glass.

Glass is usually used when printing large bed sheets because they are totally flat.

Only thing I see bad about table printing here in the US is workers, 1 to 3 people can do the same work on a large auto press, where it takes many people to table print and there is cost.  In the table printing vids I seen it's steady work and movement looks like fun until it's not any more
