Yeah, that's an empty bag of mulch.  They want us to use that for their embroidery design.

At least it's big, and sharp. I don't like the fold lines though.

I handle jobs like this this very simply:
I estimate how long it will take, and quote accordingly. Hopefully it's high enough for them to track down whatever files they gave to the bag manufacturer.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

It never will impress me anymore the stuff people believe to be their artwork/files/logo.

Hey, at least it's for embroidery... digitizer is only using it as a "go by".

Royster, you would think... but I just had a client bring me in a 1/4 sheet of paper with their logo.  It is a friend that works for the company and I said "find the art work man.. SOMEONE has that SOME where digitally!"  He came back and said "nope, they have a folder in the filing cabinet with a pile of those and that is it."  *sigh*

I know we've had it a couple of times where a customer brings in an old tshirt and ask if we can just scan it from there.
It's not a job if you love doing it.

Royster, over the years, for as long as I can remember, when doing sponsors on backs, dozens and dozens of times, only an invoice for recreating art work provided the incentive needed to open the file cabinet and look for the ad slicks, or nowadays the digital equivalent.

This is not much different. I pointed out in my first reply to this thread that somewhere there is the art file. Some folks just need a reason to look.

Hey,  Some of my best sim process work was done from my scans of a tee shirt (for Universal Studios even). LOL.

I used to beg and plead for workable art for sponsors, now i just scan and print.  I had one customer say they had a complaint reguarding how bad their logo looked on the shirt compaired to others.  My response was they either provided the correct art file or paid the $25 recreation fee. 

My all time favorite response is "I could not open or see that file so i deleted it."  Yea you just paid 2k plus for your new company logo and you deleted it WOW.  Now you are giving me flack for the recreation fee?

Hey,  Some of my best sim process work was done from my scans of a tee shirt (for Universal Studios even). LOL.

I may have got by with one of them but the other had a big grease stain on it.
It's not a job if you love doing it.

we JUST finished a job like this...  with tons of little details in the print.  Charged the customer $150 for the conversion from the old scan to the new shirt.  I'll see if I can find the before and after...

I'm always amazed by what people think is art... this bag is better than a faded t-shirt with mostly cracked ink at least. Pre-digital this would be a might PITA.
