There's a 6/4 Rototex currently listed on Ebay for $450.  It's pick up only, but that's a steal for this press, even if it needs a good cleaning.

And the perfect press for someone who then steps up to an inexpensive old American auto to save $ on that as well! (as in the "bottom of the barrel" thread)  :D
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

So you're saying a Rototex is a bottom of the barrel manual?

No, I'm saying that cheap American Rototex autos came up in that thread. (and I didn't title the thread either. Pin that on Mimosa!)

I gotcha, sorry for the misread.. I've been printing on a Rototex manual since I was 12, and can't let anyone talk bad about my baby!   ;D

I didn't notice any micro adjustments.  Did I miss 'em?

Hmmm that's a good question...

It's really hard to tell from the photo as you can't see the back of any of the heads, but it looks like the bottom of each head has at least one micro locking knob (it really should have two), and there are a few other small indications that the micro reg is in place (the spring holding pins appear to be there on the head facing forward and the one to the left).  But without seeing the back of the heads there's no way to know.  Overall, the machine looks to be in decent condition so I'd be surprised if the micros were removed, but stranger things have happened.

So for anyone looking at this press, get more pics and make sure the micros are all there.  This thing is a paperweight without them.

It looks micro-less.
The screen holder directly across pict center is pretty plain.

Wish my 8 color had micros, but been lovin', lovin', lovin' it for 15 years!!!

Previous owner cranked on center arm wing nuts, and smashed in some of the square channels.
They put a conduit pipe inside which pushes out the channels to where they need to be.
I need to do some more, but not sure how to jam pipe inside? Any ideas?

Thanks,

If you're talking about the two attached pieces of square tubing (one smaller than the other) which slide inside the head, the tubing is supposed to be bent in the back on either side of the small piece.  This is where the tips of the rear adjustment knobs fit into and push the arms forward in the micro assembly.  The backward motion is handled by the springs.  If you have the square tubing pieces, you just need the knobs for the back and the little springs which attach to a small clip on the head, and pull through the holes in the square tubing.  They get locked in with a pin in the front.  From there, you just need the locking knobs on the bottom to complete the micros.

Almost forgot, there are the two small threaded rods which fit into the top rear of the head, which connect the side to side assembly.  I'm doing this by memory so apologies if I'm a bit off as to location.

Many of these parts should be able to be found at a specialty hardware store if you have one in your area, or through American M&M.  I've gotten parts both ways when rebuilding my press and they are definitely a lot cheaper if you can track them down at the hardware store.  If you need any photos of anything, let me know and I can send them over.

No not that element. Mine doesn't have micro.
Talking about the hollow square tubes that screen clamp arms are attached to by the thumbnuts,
not wing nuts as I called them. They reefed on them to hard bending inward
concaving, so the screen clamp arms kind of tweek up or down.

I'm gonna take a look at my press when I get in the shop tomorrow, but I believe mine are concave there as well in order to fit the round end of the thumbscrew.  That's decent gauge steel, so it would be pretty tough to do that kind of damage by hand.  Have you pulled the head apart to see if there's anything in there that would prevent the thumbscrew from sitting flush?
