Day one with starlight
« on: June 20, 2014, 05:54:10 AM »
Took a few hours and a call to mr as feet on stand were kinda not clarified in manual ( you take the starlight feet off, put them on the stand legs, we spent an hour looking through packing for a "kit" with the unit), but got her plugged in.
6 sec on 156, 7 on a 1110 with orange. Under 30 second full cycle. Game changing piece of equipment.
Came off of two amergraphs. Less heat, electric. Now if they were not so expensive..........

I am assuming you purchased the larger unit?  We went with the smaller 23 31 a few months back. We are more than happy with it and I found the price to be a little "cheaper" than I feel this unit is worth. If you think about it, you never have to change a bulb, EVER, you don't have to adjust time for a weaker bulb, you can dial it in and unless you are messing with emulsions, your time is set in stone -forever. Being a newer piece of technology, I was expecting to pay closer to the larger unit price. A brand new 1k watt mh unit or anything comparable was the same price as the LED unit, how can you go wrong?!....super happy with our purchase and we would buy it again, without question. now If I can only scrape together enough change for a DTS.....
...keep doing what you're doing, you'll only get what you've got...

My only issue with the starlight is why I waited so long after they came out to purchase one :)

congrats on your new unit.

I agree with Jay, it's worth every penny and more.... and I want a DTS now too :)

I wish I bought one the day they were available.  We are blowing through screens now compared to our worn out Ameragraph.

You are going to love it.   Yesterday, I went through 14 screens including one 6 color sim process job, one 4 color butt registration job and they were spot on with no touching the micros.  I was able to get 2 more jobs done yesterday than I normally  would've and closed shop earlier.  That's where our ROI is going to come from.
It's not a job if you love doing it.

Yep. Game changer.
Air went in exposure room today as well. May hide in there rest of summer.
Now onto faster art turn and film output.
CTS definately on for next year.
