Baseball fans....

Jim Thome hit homerun  #599 and #600 tonight in Detriot !!
He's a class act and one of the few bright spots in a painful season for the Twins.

But that pales in comparison to a Giants hater watching "The Beard" blow a save and lose to the Braves! He almost wiggled out of a bases loaded ninth.
I, for one would not like to be a Gator Ade container in that dugout! ;D

Actually, before someone corrects me, it is a loss and not a blown save.

And I just saw on the news that the Twins won! A rarity this year.

The Twins just signed a Ft Myers Florida high school pitcher to a contract with a million dollar bonus.  Good for him.  I should have tried harder when I was a kid.

It's a blown save since they were only down by 2.  His 5th blown save in 40 tries.

the Bravos are coming on strong here at the end of the season.

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking, the blown save is pretty obvious, but I guess he gets a loss as well, and Bumgarner a no-decision. At any rate, it really made the trip back from the supermarket enjoyable.

I freaking love the beard.  It's so insane looking but it's like a car wreck, I can't stop looking at it.  He has blown some saves this year but he's still got some serious stuff.  I don't know how the batters can look at him with a straight face.

Oh yeah, Jim Thome, I've always admired the way he did things.  I loved the way the ball came off his bat and the ball flight.  They were mostly moon shots that had tremendous height to them.  He's one of the few in that era that I don't really think was juicing it up.  I really think he did it the right way.
