VIRUS Discharge Shelf Life?!?!
« on: April 15, 2014, 10:34:09 PM »
I just read this and I am either not understanding what they mean or there is some major voodoo magic going on and I am going to switch ink systems tomorrow:

6 month shelf life after activated?!?!

I have gotten about 2 months out of activated Matsui white when refrigerated and by adding additional activator.  6 months on the shelf with no special treatment is game-changing imo...

I just received a ton of virus products to test about 10 different bases, pigments,  whites etc so I'll let you know but yes they claim around 8 months on the shelf once activated. The discharge activator that I received is liquid form.

6 months should be no problem, I have talked with a guy that said he got over 9 months. It coincidentally matched up with his wife being pregnant or something(I think it lost something in the translation :D ). The stuff is killer though! Unfortunately they know that, and charge accordingly....

Yeah the distibuter is my main supplier,  he is just a small operation with 3 employee's but is usually at my shop daily. He mainly does local business but I know he can ship. Real nice guy to deal with though and has quite a bit of virus stuff in stock. I know he doesnt have a website or anything but if orders are emailed to him he gets it out quick.

Yeah when I got on the website it said that the rep in this area was here but info still to come. Danny if you don't mind sharing your reps  info can you PM me with his # or email. I think I talked with them a few years back at a show but was hesitant because I was not sure of their availability, I have heard good things around the block but haven't got to try it out. Some reps stopped by today from somewhere local but I was so crazy busy I didn't have the time to talk to them:( hope it wasn't them.

The rep on the West Coast said it would last a year but that was a couple of years ago. Maybe they changed the formula or real life production proved wrong. But since it is imported yeah, shipping fluids is very expensive.

It last easily 8 month's. The manufacturer of Virus is our distributor in Italy. Nice people and very good product.
