Sales people (who know it all).

Ever run into that one person who "knows everything"?


I am occasionally working with a lady that was in sales for a paper printing Co. before and now owns an emb shop. Just before she started her own Emb. shop, she was a sales/customer service person at a Emb shop for like 4 months (and knew everything then) she thinks. and now, she owns her own emb shop.


Now, she sends me art to do. Small stuff, but....every conversation we have, (she knows everything).  She tells me what art files they want (all wrong) each time...and I some how have to (elegantly explain) why thats not what they need...but when she tells me, She's so confident and almost....like I don't know what she knows kinda of attitude.  Takes time dealing with her.


It gets to be along story, but ...I find it both humorous and annoying at the same time.


She makes a good stereotypical sales person. (The ones who can sell anything yet know nothing). The Bull shiesters.


Just ranting.

Your a good man! I would give her what she asks for then use that as a her learning experience for next time.

Have I EVER "been there/done that! Best thing you can do is back away...Calmly smiling, and covering your squishy bits! After a certain point, you have to give up trying to help, just give those sorta folks EXACTLY what they ask for, and live/retain sufficient sanity to draw another day! LOL!

I have actually had to move my desk out of earshot of the front "greeting area" because some people work me up so much! To be fair, my wife does say I am a crabby old man though....

To touch back on kinda what dan was saying a bit, little over a year ago I wanted to try CCI discharge inks & dyes. Called their 800 number and they said I had to talk to the local sales rep. I called him, and he had LITERALLY NO idea about any of their discharge products, he claimed they were brand new and he was not up to speed on them. So I was stuck wanting to order some of them, their 800 number wouldnt take my order and the rep couldn't take my order! It all got sorted out, but probably the FIRST time I didn't get the "know it all" schpeal from a salesperson!
