Metallic Silver Shimmer Ink

A good source for the dry flake is Meadowbrook inventions. Minimums are high for most of us folks though. Some ink companies by their raw materials from them. Back in the casino retail days we mixed different particle sizes and colors for some interesting looks.

I printed my One Stroke sample today on a navy shirt (used 86 mesh), no underbase.  Wanted to compare it to a shirt we did several months ago with Union and an underbase.  There was actually no difference.  However, we then printed the same logo with Union again and no underbase and got a bleed-through on the navy shirt with a P-F-P and a 100% cotton material...strange.  Also noticed the One Stroke is a bit thicker in consistency, but still easy to print.   Anyway, thinking I may stick with One Stroke for silver shimmer (it looked nicer and no underbase needed).  Still love and use Union for some of their other products - their Premium Bright Cotton White is unbelievable since it needs no stirring or additives - a huge timesaver!!

Union is my go to ink for shimmers, their gold looks gold and not greenish like International Coatings as well as being kind on the wallet.

BTW how can Excalibure charge 127.00 for a gallon of quick silver when International Coatings is only 65.00? Must be paying for the Canadian import charges.

I love one stroke but they'll never be my go to ink due to being way too expensive.

Is that the IC 96 for $65, or the 156? The 96 is a true metallic, and the 156 is shimmer (plastic flakes). Make sure that you are comparing apples to apples here. By it's description, Quick Silver sounds like a true metallic.

Not the shimmer it's exactly like the quick silver but not as thick and cures easier. Ryan has it for 60 something.

My local dealer has IC and Excalibur , excal is 20 -30 more than IC per gallon and their metalics are almost double in price as its sopposed to be a premuim high end ink. (just overpriced thick ink  if you ask me)
