what kind of fill densities are you using

what kind of fill/tatami densities are you using on big filled in patterns?  do you use a special offset to make the pattern prettier?  what are your go-to decimal values??  (WILCOM specifically)

Anywhere from .40 down to .34 works for us. Cant stand seeing the garment in a fill.

ah...well i have to go .35 for most stuff but it still has some see-thru issues for me...i have gone as low as .30 and .25 and still see thru it and i really dont want to dip below .30...that is just way too dense IMO to get a quality item...

what are you doing your offset fractions at? standard .24/.24?

youre using 75/11's i assume?

Keep in mind she is covering Applique material as well.  If that changes your answer.  We see mostly great results but at times id like to see some better coverage.  (being a picky bastard)

You probably know or use- Underlay will also keep thread up some
off the surface, therefore help fabric from showing through some. Our software settings
are totally different from Wilcom, and won't help with numbers values.

I am a picky bastard as well. We do als run a double underlay sometimes. We use 75/11 sharps and mids on almost everything. We use .25/ .25 on most stuff without issues. Try offsetting the second underlay and that should make a huge difference.

I never drop below a .35 on a tatami fill. If I have an issue with garment showing through I usually try lessening the spacing of the tatami underlay. If still an issue i will use a second tatami underlay in an opposite direction. It really pays to find the right underlay versus increasing the density of the cover stitch. An over dense cover stitch will cause puckering and increase the stitch count a ton.

I haven't done embroidery in over five years. I do remember though, that I had t thicker (30 vs. 40?) black and white thread I would use for larger fill areas. Or maybe I'm just doping smoke? Ran it just the same as normal threads.
