M&R Squeegee Holder

Any secret to putting squeegee rubber into the M&R holder that has the carrage bolt and nut setup. Seems like it needs wedged open, or some slickum!

Silicone Spray and a soft rubber mallet

I use a large screwdriver to gently pry them open... can't use a mallet with double bevels. ..  the silicone spray helps too, but you want to make sure you get it fully seated.

I would always use a wide pry bar, that way i didn't ding up the edges of the holder.  spread the force out over a larger area

Perhaps make yourself a fairly hard wooden wedge.

Spray screen opener on the sides and small piece of wood hit lightly with hammer to start it then tap in the rest, then turn over and push on the cement to even it out, tighten bolts.

Randall:  I’ve never used a hammer or other tools to load new squeegee blade into the holder.  The best method I know is to slightly bend the blade upwards from the holder, while maintaining firm pressure on the trailing edge of the blade as you insert into the holder.  This has the effect of slightly stretching the blade, making it thinner and easier to push down into the holder.

In the past we used the hold-down bar on the guillotine to push it in. Works like a charm. (if you have a guillotine)
