How to unstick a sticky MAC valve on Gauntlet S?
« on: November 07, 2013, 02:57:31 PM »
Chopper on head #1 is moving very slowly and does not print. The lubricator was not working. I just replaced the reg/lubricator and want to know how you get a valve unstuck, also how much oil do you feed the press?

Own my Anatol it sez 1 drop of oil for every 50 cycles, I have 7 print heads so I thinking a bigger press might take more.

It works! I guess just some exercise will free it up. Head #2 doesn't chop at all though but I guess that's not that big of a deal as the flash almost lives there I suppose.

on the 'top' of the mac valve.. when looking at the top of the black solenoid, there's a little white 'button' in a small hole.. if you work that a few (10) times, with a nail or something that fits in there, usually they unstick themselves.

we find the most problems when everything is 'cold' first thing in the morning... after a few cycles, many times the cycles we do as part using the flash to pre-warm the pallets loosen things up.

It actually looks like the previous owner rarely if ever printed on head 2. Everything is real dark and kinda blackish from the heat of the flash.
