Printing on Laxan?
« on: June 07, 2013, 04:02:27 PM »
I have a customer wanting me to print on Lexan.  Does anyone print on this and know anywhere can I get a quart of white ink?

Lexan is a polycarbonate
Check this for a compatible ink

I used to years ago, I was using a multi purpose with NazDar NB-70 added to it to make it stick. I'd see what's current, look at NazDar's line.

And try to control static. Spray, wipes, grounding, whatever it takes. This type of material can really become a dust magnet.

Send an email to Nalgene or some other bottle mfr and ask them exactly what they use to print their logos, etc. I have an old Nalgene bottle that has some seriously durable printing on it.

Generally it's solvent based or UV inks. Vinyl ink will do in a pinch unless it's a hi-wear surface, then you might want to look into 2-part inks.
