Tony nice print. I am starting to think you like waterbase inks. How is the waterwash done on this one? Is it printed then sprayed with water before going in the dryer?

actually, I'll tell you a secret! All of his stuff is done with plastisol, he is just steering us away from the easy (plastisol) work and misdirecting us!  ;D

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

Thanks yes, its that simple. This was part of  line I developed and never released. Tons of real cool stuff. Sadly films are gone and memory disc too. I had a Gyotaku fish with water wash bubbles, Vintage dirt bike with waterwash spraying mud from the back of the tires, etc.
Heres a better pic

Tony can you share other techniques.

The waterwash is cool. I can think of a ton of things to do with it. Even mix plastisol top color with a DCUB and then waterwash it. That would give you a sharp top print with a faded soft shadow under it. The plastisol would not be effected by the water right?

Hi Jon. Cant give it all away but I think I share just enough! A DC/PLS print would'nt work as the plastisol would act as a resist BUT..........if you did a major choke on the top colors then it would, creating a halo effect. If you distress enough you could emulate finishes such as Batik. BTW when doing waterwash and slurry sprays be careful not to over saturate, especially on sheers and fine gauge ringspun, or else you'll need a slip sheet in the garment to protect the back of the shirt.
And very funny Pierre

Very good advice. I was thinking about that. Thanks for the email also with all the special techniques you do. I promise I will not share that email with anyone. I understand why you didn't want to post all that great advice. You have shared alot on the forum and maybe even started a small feeding frenzy for waterbase/DC over the last few months. I think I speak for everyone that does waterbase every day when I say enough is enough. We had the market cornered now there is a ton of newbies trying to take our business.

Keep up the good work Tony one day I would like to meet and buy you a beer for all the great advice.
