OK Proud Parents, Post About Your Kids
« on: April 22, 2013, 10:05:07 AM »
We just got back from the Rip The Duck lacrosse tournament in South Bend. My son was asked to play on the Yetis, a team that was put together by some parents from his travel team last year. He is U13 but he played up in U15. The team only had one practice, and just went to hang out and have fun.

They ended up going undefeated and coming in 4th out of 22 teams! The only reason they did not make it to the championship was goal differential. Our last game was against a nearby team, and before the game the other team walked by out team and was saying how the "Yetis sucked." After they got trounced 5-1, they were surpisingly quiet. I'm very proud of him, so I'm posting this so other parents can write about the great things their kids do.

Just a little break from the hectic world of screen printing,

He plays defense usually, and for the local team that I coach he plays attack. I'm sure there are many on these boards that print lax pinnies. Hopefully the growth of the sport leads to more orders for uniforms from TSB members!

Congrats!  I know I enjoyed the times when my son played soccer. Never got close to lacrosse but yea, maybe that will pick up like Soccer has. After watching my son play, I almost joined the adult team. Those guys play rough tho. My sons coach was in the adult team and was nicknamed Hacksaw. But wow, do parent get riled. I saw about 3 arguments and maybe 1 that did come to a push and swing but no contact before it was broken up. Gotta love parents. I knew going in that I wasn't going to be "that guy" but I was the annoying guy that coached from the sidelines and walked around the field. LOL. My son got more annoyed with me but I was in there rooting and guiding. Some needed it. Now, if I had only ever played, I might have know how to coach better from the side. ;)

[/size]My son is waiting on a position with the Police dept now. Just took his classes and state exam. Now waiting for a spot to open. I love that kid. :)

Both of them are playing soccer and both of them are pretty good.
I have to take older one to two games each Saturday, because he said that he is big enough to play in two leagues :)
Older one will be 7 and younger one 5 this year.

BTW, younger one is a complete troublemaker, as you can see in the second pic.

OK, I'll bite. I'm going to brag up my 16 year old son. He does (volunteer) online support for Mozilla/Firefox. They like his work enough they sent him to LA from Iowa to a conference. I don't know what the hell it was about, but there were some pretty hi-ups at our dinner table one night. Didn't understand a word they said. He is one of the few reps in the US and is by far the youngest. I'm starting to call him my retirement plan. So if you ever use their online support, it might be my son helping you! And by the way, my other two kids are great, too.

My 16 year old son plays lacrosse, defense and long stick midi second year already had some colleges talk to him, he is super aggressive and plays smart, then he also plays football he is very competitive and  I love to watch him hit people lol. Then my daughter plays basketball and soccer, she is better suited for basketball she is about a head taller than most her friends. currently with the wife working 2nd shift,  lacrosse and soccer going at the same time I have no life right now lol.
