Appears to be hitting newstands any day. Since I never saw final edits and I have a new editor who knows what we'll see. Unfortunately for many of you this first installment is more of an introduction followed by a lot of whats been discussed in this forum. But hey, at least its all in one place. Also don't know what art they used but much of it will probably consist of images posted here. Julys installment (which is the Special Effects issue) will concentrate a little more on meat and potatoes and cover topics such as reverse printing, water wash, split fountains, color overlay, etc. I'll be submitting actual garments for art for all that.
Just ran out of time and space for all of that to be covered in one issue.

Can't wait to see it. Should be great!  It's a grat tool to have "paper in hand" to read. I love the forums but dang, I still get excited when I get my trade mags in the mail. I've learned a great deal from them over the years and thats why I'm where I'm still in screen printing today.


Maybe you can submit that to us for posting in the article section (after it's been published with them) and we will send a link back to their location as well. They usually keep back articles online.

Printwear used to be free, then went to $48 per year.
Anybody, small guys question that? Every dollar counts... Digital is still free with a couple of
paper copies per year, but like Dan, Frog and a few of the older guys
(Dan you're not old) sure enjoy a turning pages "in hand", eh?
Sure miss them, most all of the Promo mags come free. PW- free survey here.

Thanks in advance. Sadly the trades (and many trade mags outside of our industry) have dwindled dramatically. They don't pay writers anywhere near what they did in the past and they keep getting thinnerand thinner. Only about half of them are even still around. Their trade show attendence continues to dwindle. It's all about the internet and the economy of course. I don't miss having a column but The Printers Perspective was a valid one I suppose. It's harder than you think to remain neutral and suggestive without coming across as a know-it-all or going over some readers heads or dumbing it down. It's stressful too. They usually work three months out in order to get art, ads and layout. You usually have to supply you're own art. Again, no regrets but it's not worth doing anymore. Maybe a couple of times a year going forward.
