Oh yeah, they vary. but I know as I'm approaching my target pigment loading if I'm .12G short, I'm going to add CAREFULLY 3 drips and it's gonna be right in the ballpark, or probably just a skoche long. I've never done the actual math you did on your retest, but now I'm curious. I'm betting on your 18 to 19 drips per gram as being closer to correct than with my method. I've just always used the .04 gram per drip to speed up the process when approaching the target on smallish quantities.

The minor differences between droplets of different colors is probably as much a function of surface tension and temperature, as anything.

Gosh. I think I've hijacked this thread, but on the actual topic, the discussion of 100ths of a gram as opposed to 10ths is DEFINITELY relevant when considering the relative ink quantities needed. With gallons of ink, even 10ths of a gram is WAAAY plenty acccurate. If you just need ink for a "touch plate" type of quantity, you're gonna want that extra decimal. Unless of course, consistency between subsequent orders is a non-issue. Plus some pigments need more caution. For one example, when using black in some formulas its easy to get TOO MUCH, at least with Matsui.
