Tornados
« on: May 26, 2011, 08:38:22 AM »
Has anyone heard from Ray, From the old board, there was 3 or 4 tornados on the ground in his neck of the woods last night. Our thoughts and prayers go to the victims and all that were affected by the tornados this season.

Had a tornado wipe out a swath and take 2 lives 4 miles from my house the other day in Minneapolis.

Had a couple of warnings by me, but luckily, no tornadoes. A lot of rain, thunder and wind though.
We are in line for another day like that (hopefully nothing more than that).

I hope those people in Tornado Alley get a break already, they have been hit hard this year :(

Not trying to diminish whats happening in the alley, but you don't normally relate Minneapolis or the Carolinas with tornado season.

I was on the phone with Donnie Miller from Miller Graphics in Wanoka Ok the other day and he said...."I think that is my trash can getting blown around out there".  Couple minutes into the conversation he says. "Yep. my trash can just went down the road".  I think they just got high winds catching the back tail of the tornado's.

In 2010, Minnesota had more tornadoes than any other state with 122 tornado reports.
I'm originally from Oklahoma and we had a tornado wipe out a shopping center down the street from us in the 70's when I was a kid. I'm beginning to think tornadoes are following me.

We were lucky. I knew some people who were not.

I don't complain about 4 feet of snow anymore, I'll take that over a tornado anyday...

We shut the shop down about 30 minutes early day before yesterday due to reports of baseball sized hail, high winds and possible tornadoes. Everyone got home with just some rain and wind but others were not as lucky... A mother and her 17 year old son got hit by a very large cottonwood tree that a tornado ripped out of the ground... It flattened the SUV and killed them. That kinda' makes those hail stones and water damage look like no problem at all in comparison.......... bad deal for sure. I was involved in clean up in 2 other bad tornadoes in the past..... but I don't think even the Greensburg tornado compares to Joplin. If you have never personally seen the aftermath of an F5... be thankfull.. it is not a pretty sight! TV and newspaper make it look bad but up close you can tell that Mother Nature is a "B!TCH" that you don't mess with. Hard to believe she also makes rainbows................ Moment of Silence........ I'm done and out........
