I printed some welding beanie hats last night. It went pretty good that to the special platen from
http://www.pnwcnc.com/.It was a test order for 250 pieces so I did not bother re-doing the screen (Some letters got washed out on 2 out of 7 logos and I did not have any more coated 110 mesh screens) otherwise I would be printing 7 instead of 5 at the time. The biggest pain is to load a pallet with the hats, but on the bigger runs I will have someone loading while I print. It looks like it will be 1000 piece orders every few months.
Another good thing is, one hit white was enough, no need for flash. 110 mesh on 40 Ncm Newman screen, 60/90/60 squeegee, printed with WM Plastic Ultimate white which has a bit of Puff in it. Puff helps it to be a bit more opaque than it would be normally.
After 30 minutes of printing, I got in the groove and loading became a bit faster, with two people on the press it would be a breeze.
It looked pretty interesting so I decided to share.
