what do i need to backlight my washout booth?

I'm thinking of just buying a fluorescent light fixture and mounting it to the wall behind the washout booth. Any other DIY ways or other things I should think about here?

Yes they are individual lights , 24 inch bulbs exactly like this one from Lowes

Cool thanks that's what I was just looking at. How are they mounted? Do you have sleeves over the lights?

I don't have pics, but I made a long "L" bracket for the wall and matching short ones for the fixtures. 

I guess they look more like straightened out "Z"s since one leg fastens to the wall on the long bracket and one leg of the short brackets fasten near the top of the fixture.  Picture the result being an upward pointing hook slide (kind of) along the wall and a downward pointing hook slide (kind of), about 5", attached to the fixture.  That way I can hook the fixture on and slide it in place.  Also makes it easy to slide out for bulb replacement rather than moving the wash booth. 

I also attached an "L" (this time a real "L") to the wall nearer to the bottom of the fixtures to maintain the same plane so they wouldn't be on a cockeyed slant.

I used two fixtures of 2 bulbs each.  Wasn't real fancy, but this way air circulates around the fixtures, since I used the ones that said to only hang with the drop chains (these are a lot cheaper) I assume for heat dispersal for safety.

I will have to look at the back of the booth to see if I even have enough room. I may need to modify my homemade drain some to clear some space back there. From what I recall there is only a few inches from wall to booth.

The lights are mounted to the wall on 2 x4's bolted to the wall, the booth simply sits in front of the light gang.  we  screwed from the inside of the light case into the 2 x4. There are no sleeves lights are just like they came out the box, nothing special at all.
About 3 years time on them at this point.

Don't use plexi or lexan for the back of the booth in front of the lights, go and get the clear plastic mats that go under office chairs in carpeted offices. They are HDPE and are very resistant to chemicals.

I would stay away from the T12 fixtures. I read that all or some T12 bulbs and fixtures are being phased out and wont be available after July of 2012.

I would look for the T8 or T5 fixtures.

LOL, it's almost impossible to find any T12 fixtures so it's already been done for the most part.
