Discharge Red vibrancy issues
« on: August 06, 2020, 12:57:42 AM »
It`s always discharge red that causes issues for us. I feel like it`s never as vibrant as it could or should be. The black shirts we print on are discharging just fine. I feel like something else is causing this. How much discharge agent is too much for a nice bright vibrant red? Better to stay below 6%-7%? Increase the percentage of pigments?
We are using the CCI discharge mixing system not RFU colors. What pantone colors you use for a nice standard red?

Sericol ink, 4% agent- absolute best discharge red out there. Everything else is always muted and flat, especially CCI.

If you want to stay with CCI, look at their "Fox Red" discharge. Also when using a red discharge try around 3% on the activator.

I`m so glad I posted this question and very happy with all the replies posted. Needless to say you guys were spot on, I upped the pigment load decreased the % of activator and the reds are looking very nice now.

Cheers.
