New to forum/rebel flesh formula
« on: January 09, 2012, 12:00:48 PM »
I just signed up for this forum.  I have heard other printers rave about the exchange of tips and info on this site.  The exchange of ideas and thoughts is a good thing.  I look fwd to helping people any way I can.
My name is Toby and I am a production manager for a small but growing shop.  I have been printing for years now but im always looking to learn something new and grow this business.
we have just recently started mixing our own inks which leads me to my first question, we are looking to make rebel flesh and can't find a Pms match or a formula online from wilflex.
Can anyone help?

I would give them a call. They have good Tech support. I could not find it in the software either.

Welcome to the forums.

Poly-One support is great. They should definitely be able to help you with your PMS color.

Hey Toby, pull up a keyboard and enjoy.

As for Rebel Flesh, is that a very different shade than Yankee Flesh? And Wilflex does have a Manufacturers section ) here (along with email notification) if you want to post there and get their attention.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

Welcome aboard Toby!

As Frog said, post something in the Wilflex section and Erin will get a notification. She's pretty quick on getting back to ppl!

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

This is just me thinking out loud, but when it comes to getting a color I need I start mixing colors and really just fly by the seat of my pants, but I will hit the color I need.  I see your point in wanting to do it right for a mix later down the line...I have an old Rutland coloring book that I use when I,m needing to repeat a color even though I use Union inks for mixing.  Here is a formula from rutland on flesh tone close to rebel... white 98.55 yellow 0.95 Scarlet 0.33 K(black) 0.17  like I said its and old book but still gets you close to the color you want.

Welcome.  Google is your friend... search rebel flesh pms in images and you will get PMS 475C
which is in the Wilflex color matching program.

Wilflex IMS program has formulas for all of their stock inks.  Rebel Flesh is the name.

I'd say to go to the wilflex site and download the software but Polyone for some reason has taken down the page.

http://www.polyone.com/en-us/about/businessgroups/Inks/Pages/WilflexIMS.aspx

returns a 105 error.

I've never even heard of a Rebel Flesh. Is that simple redneckery? Being from one of the red neck states, I would think I would know that one.  LOL.
