new warehouse
« on: September 26, 2018, 09:08:12 AM »
Hey guys,

Finally moving from NY to NC today. Going to start setting up my warehouse. Taking all of my manual press supplies with me there and getting my automatic, conveyor, and other big machinery delivered to the warehouse in NC.

How long did it take you guys to get your automatic press warehouse fully functional?

Any tips, warnings, heads up, or problems you guys faced while first setting up your warehouse that i can use/anticipate?

(i'll take a picture and post it here once everything is moved in)

Thanks guys!

I'd say, prepare for the worst, if it doesn't go that way, all the better. You need to seriously walk through it all. When we moved last winter, we lost about 5 days of production, if you want to use that as some kind of indicator. That was: moving a 10 color auto, and a small 24" x 12' dryer, a manual, and having a new gas dryer installed. I'd say the press was a 3 day job between the tech dismantling, getting it moved, and put back together and tested to be sure it was right. In the end, it will take what it takes, no matter what your plans.

Double check that your doorways, wiring, plumbing are all going to work. We got wrong specs about our press and had to widen a doorway. Got incomplete electrical specs and had to re-run 50ft of cable.

Fun times.

We are moving too. Last weekend in November. We have as well an automatic press, big gas dryer, a manual press, two exposure units and an Exile SpyderII to move. The thought of moving the Spyder makes me feel rather anxious. But maybe I`m just overthinking it all. I marked 4 days for taking it all down and having it up and running again. Roughly the same time it took last time we moved. Luckily it`s a long public holiday weekend so we are just loosing 2 days of production. Good luck with your move.
