Hat press leaving marks on foam hats
« on: March 09, 2018, 10:29:26 PM »
We were attempting to press some trucker hats today and the hat press left hat press shaped indents in the foam. Are these going to fall out naturally? Or does anyone have tricks to get them out or prevent them?

Thanks in advance.

too much pressure.  On the foam truckers you can get away with very light pressure.

DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES COMPLETELY WITHIN MY CONTROL YOU SHOULD GET YOUR OWN TEE SHIRT AND A SHARPIE MARKER BY NOON TOMORROW OR SIMPLY CALL SOMEONE WHO GIVES A SHIRT.

Get a steamer.  Just a simple $20 steamer from amazon.

Press marks come right out!

I needed more of a gradual step.
But just to demonstrate the craziness of this biz, I just ran 30 Otto flat brim foam truckers with nothing special, and had no marks.
I also was pressing vinyl.
That may allow less pressure than plastisol.

btw, more and more, I am using folded paper towel material for shims and auxiliary pads. Very easy to make custom shapes and thicknesses.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?
