So we have an older Speedair 10hp compressor that has been a good piece of equipment. The only issue is the head gaskets aren't made anymore so they recommend an updated head. No biggie, the new heads are way better than the old, for the most part. We were still blowing gaskets like mad and then the tech realized the bolts that are supplied with the heads are too long by about 1/8". So they got to the correct torque and the head felt tight, but it wasn't. So we were still blowing gaskets every year or so.
Fast forward a year when the last one went out(after the bolt problem was solved) and I decided I've had enough of fixing the old pump we bought a reasonable replacement.
https://www.compressorworld.com/10-hp-air-compressor-pump-35-cfm-two-stage-175-max-psi-2105.htmlWe finally finished the install today, we had it good enough to run yesterday, just a couple leaks in the air line to the tank. It's so much quieter than the old pump and runs much smoother. Much less vibration. I seriously think the old pump was close to being finished anyway. For the price on these it's worth it to keep an extra on hand, which is what we plan to do since we had to drill new holes in the top plate on the tank to bolt the pump down.
All in all very pleased.
