Epson 4880 error
« on: July 06, 2017, 02:09:49 PM »
Hi there,
I was getting randomly an "Service req 001001D" but a turn off-on fixed the problem for a while. Until today...
The problem is We have an i-Image S ready to install next month, and running a 1430 as a backup now. Really, I want to fix the 4880 to use as backup...
What are my options?

Something prevent the printhead to move freely, inspect around the capping station for residus.
Check is the sliding rail are in place.

This is what I will first inspect. But there many others problems that can pop this error code.

From my database :
The Scale CR (encoder strip) is dirty. Clean it with isopropyl Alcohol, without pressure in both sides.
Clean the encoder sensor between the reader
Check the Harness encoder cable (encoder sensor-board assy sub)
Check the Harness head B cable on the encoder board.
