left chest image size on a tank top
« on: August 29, 2016, 05:14:13 PM »
What is everyone (generally) doing for a left chest image size when printing on mens tank tops? I'm more concerned with the width.

Tanks a lot guys!

That's really a hard one cause the print even if in the same place on every tank will fall different on each person, but I try and put the logo as high as I can just a little right of the shirt.  If the tanks are my size I'll take an extra one and try it on for placement of the logo as well.

Most of my "pocket" prints are around 3.5" in general, so I may knock it down to 3.25" if I was concerned with getting too close to the edge on a tank.
I guess the cut of the tank could affect this, as some have more real estate than others.

I think I have explained and convinced every client who wanted that to move it to the center to be perfectly honest. It's such an awkward placement no matter what you do...

3.25-3.5" is what I normally go with

We always consider the image shape; a line or two of text can easily be 4" wide without looking huge, but a circle or a square tend to look larger than they are (to me anyway) so we scale it back to 3" - 3.5"... and print high, you don't want it on nipples if you can avoid it...

When In doubt we just print the image on paper in three sizes..the size we think it should be one larger by 1/4 or 1/2 in and one smaller by 1/4 or 1/2 in.
Cut them out throw it on the shirt and you will know what to do from there

DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES COMPLETELY WITHIN MY CONTROL YOU SHOULD GET YOUR OWN TEE SHIRT AND A SHARPIE MARKER BY NOON TOMORROW OR SIMPLY CALL SOMEONE WHO GIVES A SHIRT.

or send those as a pdf, have the custy cut them out, check them out, and make the decision themselves.
