Poly ink on comfort colors.

I've been getting slammed with simulated process on comfort colors.  Everything was running right along until we had chocolate brown comfort colors roll through here.  These things bleed like nothing I've seen before.  I ended up running them through the dryer much faster then most of what we print but was worried about them being undercured.  We washed a couple 2 or 3 times and didn't see any problem though. 

I'm using wilflex epic quick white for the ub.  Would you recommend poly ink for the ub and if so, which would you use?  I'm just worried that the finished product won't come out as good.  I know the elt series white would cure at 250 but the top colors would have to reach 320 so that rules that out for me unless I switched to all elt.

I've seen some of the CC stuff even turn Poly ink, but it's definitely worth a try.
Only sure-fire way to block that crap is to use a bleed blocking underbase, then doing your actual underbase on top of that, but that takes up a ton of heads on press.

One solution grey blocker base and under base.   All low cure ink on top. 

The other solution is to not print comfort colors at at all and sell them on a enzyme washed shirt. 
We hate the green comfort colors shirts.  Last time we printed them we all had greens hands not to mention the smoke coming off the dryer form the dyes in the shirt. This is the only shirt I found that smokes when coming out of the dryer.

I've started just using a straight up poly white on all of these and keeping cure temps as low as possible.  So far so good, but I do know a handful of colors are completely crap.

Ray from Wilflex just told me the other day that the Wilflex Echo Underbase white for comfort colors.

For dry fit stuff he prefers the Epic bleed blocker gray.

All on 140 or lower also.

That's the word I've been given. Yes. Can you use higher?  Probably so, but not as blocking. I guess the intent is heavy coverage.

I can definitely understand the extra coverage.  It just wouldn't help me much with the ub needing to be halftoned.   I guess I'll need the customer to sign a waiver stating that they understand that there will be some extent of bleeding depending on the color of the cc although I'll try to keep it minimal.  Either that or choose another type of shirt.

Hey Dan.  I think you mean Echo Underbase GRAY.  There is no Echo underbase WHITE.

Also, another real good soft hand solution is waterbase -- in the WIlflex Oasis line that would be Bleed Blocker Black then Intense White.  Magna would be Underbase Gray SL then Aquaflex White.
