I hope you're gonna write under a pen name so we can read all the juicy stories...
Side story: there was a guy (Eric Sarafin) that wrote a book called 'Mixerman' ... basically it was the "diary" of a sound engineer mixing a new bidding war band (some said it was Lifehouse) that had industry backing, but was really bad. The actual story was a conglomeration of a bunch of different bands he had mixed over the years, and he put his own humorous spin on it. As a semi-professional musician that has worked in bands for the better part of the last 20 years, and spent some time in recording studios, I was totally able to relate to a lot of the stories and it really ended up being a fun and great book to read.
Anyways... if you choose to do a project like that, some embellishment/etc might be fun (although I'm sure the REAL stories are just as crazy and probably don't need much embellishment at all).
