M&R Habanero flash
« on: October 25, 2016, 02:37:07 PM »
I am looking at the habanero flash and would like some feedback of people running them. It seems to be the old uni-flash.

What is it your asking?  Are you adding a new flash or is this something used?  Manual or auto?

Auto or manual?

on an auto you really want to go quartz...  a fixed flash like the Habanero on an auto would be a hassle due to having to either half index your press when you stop for any reason, or pull it out of the head.

I believe the Reno will shuttle in and out.

ah, I stand corrected.

for waterbase work, the forced air probably works very well...

not sure if I'd want it for mainly plastisol due to the slower speeds and inability to sense the substrate temperature (we use this feature on just about every job on our Chili D flashes, haven't seen a scorched shirt (even on triblends) since we started using it.

Jvanick, how does the chili D work on 100% poly shirts? we print a lot of poly shirts.

Jvanick, how does the chili D work on 100% poly shirts? we print a lot of poly shirts.

works fabulous poly shirts every day here... we set the sensor to 190 or 200 depending on the ink... time for 10 seconds on the flash unit.

as the flash gets up to temperature, we watch how long it's flashing for, and then start to lower the dwell on the press.

the flash will overshoot the temperature sometimes as everything gets warmed up on long runs, so we'll just lower the time from the press control panel... but the nice thing is that at the beginning of the run as things are warming up we're still flashing correctly, or stops... when we stop, we bump the flash time back up to 5 or 6 seconds, and then start working back down.
