Started the new year right
« on: January 05, 2015, 03:18:10 PM »
I'm far from the picture of health. I will say I've done OK the last few years getting in better shape, eating better, running, and working out, but still no athlete. So I took my enjoyment of running and combined it with another passion....beer. We did a Beermile. I figured it was a great way to start the new year. I only had 7 other people do it, as it was very short notice (the day before). So all you do is chug a beer, run a quarter mile, chug a beer, run another quarter, chug another, run another, until you've run a mile. There are official rules, like in what distance you have to drink, what if you puke, etc. It was cold, about 15 degrees, and windy as hell, but we had fun. I think we'll do it every six months and work on building the participation. Just a little different way to start the year. It's fun, and good for you. ;D
